This talk will review the most significant highlights of the research carried out at DAMA-UPC in the recent months. We will take a look at how Sperksee, the high performance Graph Database has been implemented, and how different technologies have been created around it to grow its capabilities both in terms of new DB functionalities and in terms of new applications being developped. We will take an overview of the Architecture of Sparksee, the ideas behind SCD (the Scalable Community Detection, fastest and most accurate community detection algorithm up to date), Tweeticer (the new tool for understanding the impact of Tweets in Twitter), benchmarking of Graph technologies and other software that has been in production over the last year, leading to three FP7 European Commission funded projects that the group, in collaboration with its Spin out Sparsity Technologies (www.sparsity-technologies.com), are managing at this moment.
